Welcome!
Hello,
My name is Natasha Friedt and I am excited to be your child’s Occupational Therapist this year!
In case you are a little uncertain of what OT really is, let me give you a short definition. Occupational therapy focuses on the child’s “occupations” of life. This most often involves addressing motor skill development, sensory-processing, or visual perceptual skills. Within the school setting, we see a child’s work as his/her academic endeavors, taking care of their personal care (i.e.: hand washing, toileting, and self-feeding), and in some cases pre-vocational training. The teachers are the cognitive experts, while OT focuses more on promoting functional independence or participation within the educational environment. Federal law mandates that occupational therapy in the school system be educationally relevant. My goal as your child’s OT is to support them in mastery of the goals and objectives as stated on his/her current IEP.
Other “Policies and Procedures”:
I look forward to partnering with you and seeing your child grow and achieve new skills throughout the coming school year!

Other “Policies and Procedures”:
- If I cannot provide therapy to your child on his/her scheduled time, it will be my responsibility to make up that session so to provide the minutes dictated per month on their IEP.
- Your child’s progress will be documented on their school progress reports.
- Knowing that you play the most important role in your child’s development, I will be sending home occasional activity suggestions for you to do with your child as time allows. I may also make suggestions for items you may want to purchase to further help with your child’s progress (i.e.: specific pencils, grips, sensory items, etc).
- Please free feel to contact me at any time with questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress in OT. My email is [email protected]
I look forward to partnering with you and seeing your child grow and achieve new skills throughout the coming school year!
